Our Club History,

Colchester stars were formed in 1997 by (Vic Duffy). Vic is one of the sports pioneers racing,
Organising and managing racing from, it's inception on the east end bomb sites after the second world war.

He started off with 4 youngsters on a grass track at shrub end sports center in the town.

Gradually more joined and soon we had friendly matches organised with well established teams,
three of the early participants, Dave Beeby, Joel Bamford and Garath Johnson are now working far
from the town but are fondly remebered by the stars for the upsets they caused by achieving
some outstanding rides.


2000

The year 2000 saw the stars enter the south east division 2 league and break the record books
for the first team to enter league racing and not to finish at the bottom in thier first season.

2003

2003 was a poor year with the club opting to only race the old esseex&london series.
The year was used as a re-build year after the retirement of several riders and commitee members.
The rebuilt team of 2004 is going from strength to strength at the moment with a good "buzz" of
 excitment over the highs this year.
