Bike specs

The stars run differantly to some clubs in as much as the race bikes are club owned not rider
owned. This is not to say that we would not welcome any one who has their own machine.

After a break in at the club house in 200, we only had one bike left as the thieves smashed
to pieces what they could not steal. We successfully obtained a grant from "awards for all" and
puchased 3 brand new oval master bikes.

Oval master's are mountain bike based and our thinking was, due to the shortage spares for the
traditional style of bike Eg: "ace" Etc, that a mountian bike base meant we could get spares
from any where. We were then offered two second hand oval masters, one from horspaths
Neil Clinkard and the other from Lee from manchester.

Four of our oval masters run 30-16 gearing with the remaining one 33-17. All five bikes have
a differant frame size from 16inch to 21inch so they cater for the majority of age groups.

We do also have an "ace" speedway bike that is running 40-22.

For our younger riders we have modified mountain bikes from 20inch weels to 26 inch
weels. As they progress and become more skillful, they get to try the oval masters.

We have been told that due to ill health Pete Young who builds the oval masters has had
to retire. we would dearly like to purchase another as we do like the style and handling.
